Himalayas Tour

Arrive Delhi IGI airport and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon proceed for a half-day tour of Akshardham Temple with boat ride and fountain light show with commentary in English. It is one of the beautiful temple constructed in modern India. The entry to the temple is free but there may be a long queue specially on weekends. In the evening return back to your hotel and overnight.

Morning depart from Delhi by train and arrive at Amritsar (6 hours). On arrival transfer to your hotel. On arrival visit Jalianwalah Bagh to get yourself aware about the freedom struggle of India from the Britishers. In the afternoon visit Bagha Border (24 km from Amritsar city) where Indian and Pakistani soldiers to the Flag Ceremony every evening for around 30 minutes. On return visit Golden Temple in Amritsar which is a Sikh Gurudwara. It is one of the most sacred place for Sikhs to visit. The main temple is surrounded by a pool. Overnight at Amritsar.

Morning breakfast and depart for Dharamshala. On arrival start your tour and visit Norbulingka Institute which was founded to preserve the Tibetan Culture. Dharamshala has a big settlement of Tibetan people living here since 1959. You can know about Tibetan art and culture while walking through the main street of McLeodGanj. Dalai Lama is living here for long time since then. You can also visit Tibetan ashram known as Chinmaya Tapovan and spend some time in peace. Get yourself aware about the Ashram culture of India. Later on visit Karmapa Temple and see the Tibetan rituals there. Overnight in Dharamshala.

Morning after breakfast drive to the town of Mandi and than to Kullu. In Mandi you can see Bhimkali temple and a Sikh Gurudwara. Further on the way see the Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery. He was the famous Russian painter who spent his days in India for long time. His paintings very carefully depict the impression of his time in a artistic way. Drive to Manali and overnight.

Morning visit the Manali city where you can see Vashishta temple. Manali is revered as the holy town where Manu (similar to Noah in Bible) saved himself and few others during the Great flooding and came here after the water descended to start a new world. In the afternoon drive towards the Rohtang La Pass located 51 km north of Manali. It is open from May to November and close during the snow fall. Return back to Manali and overnight.

Morning driver from Manali to Shimla. While driving you can enjoy the beautiful terrain of Himalayan mountains. You can also enjoy the river rafting in Kullu river. Arrive Shimla and checkin to your hotel. Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh. The city has lot of sightseeing opportunities for travelers. Overnight in Shimla.

Today you can visit the Christ Church in the morning. It is one of the oldest Church of North India and built in 1857. Later on also visit the Scandal Corner. In the afternoon drive towards the Viceregal Lodge and later on visit the Jakhu Temple which is dedicated to God Hanuman and located at the highest point of Shimla. Evening visit the famous Mall road (shopping area of Shimla). Return back to your hotel and overnight in Shimla.

Morning visit Lakshmi Narayan Temple and drive to Lotus Temple of Bahai's Faith located near Nehru Place in South Delhi. It is a great compound with temple in Lotus architecture. Inside there is a hall for meditation. Further proceed to Qutub Minar. You can see Qutub Minar, Alai Minar (unfinished tower supposed to be twice in size than Qutub Minar), Iltutmish tomb, Iron Pillar, Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque and Tomb of Imam Zamin. Drive back to your hotel or airport as per your program.
